This Stuff is a Godsend! Helped Our Dog’s Severe Irritation Immensely

Our beautiful boy has severe allergies and his skin gets extremely red, itchy and then raw from the irritation and scratching, especially when allergy season is at its worse and he lays in the grass. We don’t want to keep him from doing what he loves and living his best life so I researched lotions, creams, ointments and balms for dogs and this is by far THE BEST one I found!! Most of the others either weren’t natural, or if they were, it wasn’t safe for dogs to lick the product. How frustrating would that be?! This one checked off all the boxes! All-natural ingredients, made here in America by a trusted company and it’s safe if the dog licks it (and what dog isn’t going to try licking it?) He doesn’t like to be touched or fooled with unless he’s being pet or player with, so that presented a challenge. But, we just followed the suggestion that came with the product of putting a treat in front of him to distract him. We put a bowl of peanut butter down in front of him and wow! I could have been cutting his leg off and I don’t think he would have noticed, lol! (Not that I would ever do that, of course. But these days, you sadly need to point out the obvious- and that was obviously a joke!) I was able to get a perfect amount of the balm on his lower belly, groin area and inside his legs (under all 4), and he let me even though the skin in those areas is very tender and sore. With just that ONE application, we noticed a marked difference!! He wasn’t chewing and gnawing at the area incessantly like he had been. In fact, he didn’t pay any attention to it at all, which was a clear indication that he felt a lot better! He licked the balm a bit here and there because I really went crazy slathering it on as quickly as I could everywhere, lol, and I think the greasiness felt a bit odd to him. But nothing to the point of being bothersome to him. He was much more relaxed and at ease since he wasn’t in pain or itchy anymore. He was visibly relieved! Which took a huge weight of worry off of our shoulders. He already has to deal with grand mal seizures after his recent diagnosis of canine epilepsy. This is now one less problem for him and for us to have to worry about. The vet was going to put him on some sort of steroid cream, which would have required he wear a cone of shame (which we’re extremely uncomfortable having him wear when he could possibly have a seizure at any given moment), and an antibiotic, all which would have cost a lot more, including an expensive vet visit. This saved us the trip and expense and it saved him the anxiety of going to the vet and suffering needlessly with the cone and meds he didn’t even need. His skin is healing so nicely now and he still hasn’t been bothered by it at all. The itch was so intense it would make him cry and gnaw at it for hours. What a relief for both him and for us that he’s no longer suffering! I plan to add more as needed but so far, one good coat is all that’s been necessary and it’s been a few days since I applied it. I got the 4 ounce tin so there is plenty left. It’s definitely worth the cost and saves you money in the end by not needing a vet trip or expensive meds (though be sure to consult with your vet about any new rash or skin irritations on your pet. Skin soother - amazing results!

After my dog had a procedure, her tummy was shaved and she irritated her skin (biting, scratching) as you can see in the picture. After a month of using a combination of the Skin Soother Wipes and Skin Soother Balm, her skin has truly healed and cleared up, as shown in the darker photo. It's helped that her fur is growing back in, but using the Skin Soother combo twice a day is a game-changer! I would definitely recommend this product. I really appreciate that the ingredients are safe to use in the event that my dog may lick it.

This has been very helpful for our little guy. That part is good. There effectively is nothing in the container. You use it 3 times and on the fourth and rotate the canister and there is nothing left! Not enough for $20!!! Skin Soother you should be ashamed for the amount you put in this product. I will be looking for another brand. Thanks for being like most other companies, dishonest. Total let down!

We have been using this for a while now and I love the new packaging. I guess we will see how the cardboard tube holds up, but I like the new direction. SEE PHOTO. I ordered the small “trial size” in the same style of “roll up balm” packaging, to see if this is typical…it is. This one is tiny as it is, and still, the actual product you receive is SMALLER than the CAP. Why is all that packs necessary if not to mislead?

Edit 1: I contacted them directly and the “customer service” rep was condescending and rude. I’m so disappointed. I’ve made over 20 purchases from them and even put them in my “recommended products” to my clients… bummer.

I have been a dedicated customer for some time… my poor little terrier has unending skin issues, and I discovered Skin Soother and Balm, which doesn't take away his condition, but it alleviates it for a bit and that is wonderful for my little guy.

All that said, their deceptive packaging, although nothing new in the industries, is dishonest, frustrating, bad for the environment and a flat out money grab.

I bought this "New 2oz roll up" and what a joke, not even 1/3 of the container is product, the rest is excess packaging, for $20?! I can't even remove the inner piece to get to the remaining product. We are sick of this as consumers. Us women have been dealing with this dishonesty with makeup for the longest time, but necessary products, something we NEED for our loved pets?! If not for outright misleading your customers, WHY 60+% more packaging than needed?!? I'm genuinely upset and feel scammed. Do better.

After about a week, my dog’s skin is no longer red, and she has practically stopped scratching/rubbing/licking except when the salve is freshly applied. The scent is a bit strong for her, so she tries to get rid of it. But if I can distract her for a while after applying, she aclimates and doesn’t try so hard. I can tell it’s helping her hotspots on her chin and foot, especially the foot since I can wrap it up. (She doesn’t know physics, so yes she does try licking it off her chin.) Hopefully with less irritation, her fur can fill back in.

This stuff is the best I have tried for my pup. It’s better than Dr Maggie’s. My pup had some urine burn and cleared it right up. Hot spots and itchies are no match for this salve. It soothes and heals very quickly. Get the stick, it’s way more cost efficient. The little tin is very small.
