A bra...for your butt? Spanx introduces new shapewear to keep your behind looking 'perky and separated'

Spanx has launched a bra to boost a new part of the body – a woman’s buttocks.

The multi-billion-dollar brand has launched a $58 ‘Trust Your Thinstincts Booty Bra’, as an undergarment to help give women a boost from behind.

The design, which looks like a pair of high-waist underpants layered with a somewhat wide-coverage thong on top, is meant to make ‘your posterior [appear] perky and separated,’ according to the brand.

In the simplest terms it is ‘a bra…for your butt!’ the company says.

The product, which just launched, is offered in nude and black.

According to Spanx, it offers a ‘medium’ slimming level, and uses microfiber panels to ‘wrap around the core, comfortably flatten the tummy, and eliminate love handles.’

The product is offered in sizes extra-small through extra-large.

It is just Spanx’s latest invention in what has become a complete range of shapewear, hosiery, and undergarments.

Spanx was launched in 2000 by Sarah Blakely, a 42-year-old entrepreneur who has become a billionaire from the company that she started in her own home.

Ms Blakely’s newest invention follows recent research that shows a spike in butt augmentations across the U.S.

New York, in particular, has shown a strong interest in the procedure.

With women trying to emulate the ass-ets of Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Kim Kardashion, more than 378,000 New Yorkers inquired about the procedure between November 2013 and January 2014 - more than three times as many as Los Angeles, Miami and Atlanta.
