Glitter infiltrated every part of the body as 2015 came to a close. We saw everything from glitter roots, to glitter brows, to glitter armpits. While adding sparkle to yourself looks rad, it turns out that it isn’t totally safe. At least if bold Cara Delevingne brows are something you’re yearning for. A group of BuzzFeed editors decided to try the glitter brow trend themselves, right in time for NYE (aka the unofficial sparkle holiday) and while they were hesitant at first, they all admitted that their festive new brows looked pretty on fleek (if you will).

However, when it came to removing the glitter, things got a little scary. According to several tutorials, the best method for gripping the glitter involves first coating your brows in eyelash glue. The problem? It was close to impossible to take off. As the women removed the glitter and glue, they also took out clumps of hair. One woman resorted to using acetone to get off her glitter and suffered from blurred vision for a bit, while another had to get medical adhesive remover for her face. The takeaway? NEVER use lash glue on your brows. And also, maybe let’s keep the glitter to just eyeshadow this year. Watch the scary clip unfold below.
