How to Clean a SIM Card

Cellular phone popularity has grown to the point where the devices can be seen in all aspects of society. From time to time, these cell phones experience problems and require slight maintenance. One of these parts is the SIM card, which stores all the user's phone-related information. In the event that any dirt gets on the SIM card contacts and interferes with the communication between the card and phone, you will need to clean the card. It's a delicate but simple procedure.
Step 1
Remove the SIM card.
Step 2
Rub the eraser lightly against each of the gold contacts on the bottom of the card. If you wish, lightly rub the contacts on the phone's SIM card port as well. If you are using the Gold Guard pen, take the cap off and gently rub the point of the pen against the contacts.
Step 3
Reinsert the card into the cell phone's port. Turn on your phone to make sure the card is working. If the phone still cannot read the SIM card, it is most likely damaged and will need to be professionally repaired or replaced.
Warnings
- Use as light a touch as possible when cleaning the contacts on the SIM card. Pushing on the contacts too hard may break them.
