Kangana Ranaut launched her official website, officialkanganaranaut.com at a Mumbai restaurant last week, only to have it promptly crash thanks to the number of fans that flooded to it.

Despite Ranaut's claims that she wants her official website to be her means of one-to-one communication with her fans, the site at its current stage of development offers only a smattering of insights into the Bollywood star's life and precious little else.

Here's six things newly learned about Kangana Ranaut:

1. Often people don't spell 'Kangana Ranaut' right. On the website she highlights the correct spelling in both Roman and Devnagiri scripts.

2. She also makes official her birth year: March 23 1987.

3. Ranaut's a trained Kathak dancer, having studied at Nateshwar Nritya Kala Mandir under the guidance of her teacher Rajendra Chaturvedi for the past four years.

4. The actress considers herself an old soul, declaring her love for film music of the '50s and '60s. Her favourite remains 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' from the 1960 period film Mughal-e-Azam.

5. Before making her Bollywood debut at 17, Ranaut actually began her career in theatre. She worked with a Delhi theatre group headed by Arvind Gaur, whose forte is socio-political provocations.

6. The two people she admires the most are Swami Vivekananda and Mahatama Gandhi.

According to a newspaper report, the star plans to start her own style blog on the site, dishing out advice based on her own quirky fashion experiments. Most recently, a futuristic Gucci dress worn to a party in Mumbai, which is captioned, "Yes!!! That's me, no one recognised me at Mr. Roshan's b'day. Thanks to my mutant get up wooooha ha ha."
