Democrats picked Jason Crow as their nominee against Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.), in what’s expected to be one of the cycle’s most competitive races; Hillary Clinton carried it by nine points. Crow, an attorney and veteran who the party had long hoped would run for office, defeated Levi Tillemann, an Obama administration veteran and energy consultant. Tillemann briefly attracted national attention when he released notes, then an audio recording, from a meeting where House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer encouraged him to leave the race.
