Indian wedding on Lake Maggiore

From the 14 to the 16 March 2017 on Lake Maggiore the celebrations of a lavish Indian wedding took place.

The celebrations lasted three days, the reception of guests, and the first celebrations were held in the marquee overlooking the islands prepared for the occasion on the tennis courts of the Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta in Stresa.

On Wednesday 15 March the celebration continued at Villa Muggia in Stresa where women are subject to traditional ceremony “Mehndi”, where tattoos where made on the hands. In the evening, the Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta a Black Tie Event, with a show with a performance by singers and international artists accompanied by music an Indian DJ.

The culmination of three days of festivities on Thursday 16 March with the traditional ceremony, held in the park of Villa Rusconi Clerici in Pallanza, a Hindu priest, who came specially from India.

The Indian tradition requires that both the bride’s father to organize the wedding, in fact Mr. Bharat Valia, a wealthy owner of a major import-export company of home textiles, wanted the best for the wedding of the daughter Anasha, 25, and future son Yash, 30.

Chefs from around the world (from London for sushi, one from Morocco for food inspired by the Arab tradition and a pizza from Naples and the cake made at the time), famous singers and fabulous location have helped make the celebrations a real show.

Guests came mostly from India have stayed at the Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta and partly at the Grand Hotel Bristol in Stresa.

The same Mr. Valia fell in love with Lake Maggiore six years ago during a trip with his wife to Lake Como,were fascinated by the place and decided to organize the wedding of their daughter on Lake Maggiore. Mr Valia, was also a guest to an Indian wedding that Verbano Events organized two years ago between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta.
