At NCEE we are thinking differently. Our #EdResearch surfaces data and insights in the United States and across the globe. We look to education leaders for lessons, inspiration, and tools for U.S. educators. In our first of a series, join us in considering how we might think differently about math—what math is taught, how it is taught, and how students learn. Let’s think differently! Together. About us
Since 1988, the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) has been researching the world’s best-performing education systems to give states and districts the tools they need to become world class. NCEE has been a leader in U.S. education from policy to practice, producing reports that have led to landmark national legislation, supporting states in redesigning their education systems, and providing rigorous, proven supports to more education leaders than any other organization. NCEE’s dedicated, diverse, and experienced staff are working with teachers, school leaders, district leadership teams, and state policy makers to create a new system of education and return the U.S. to the top of the world education ranks.

National Center on Education and the Economy reposted this
Community Builder. Regional Director (West) at NCEE. We partner with education systems at all levels to design systems that leverage the NOW to prepare ALL learners for the future. Let's collaborate!
Any day spent in schools with our young people is a day worth celebrating! In this week's edition of "But what does the National Center on Education and the Economy do?" I bring you this student listening session hosted by our partners in Santa Ana Unified School District. But let me go back a moment. Four years ago the team and community in SAUSD came together for an intensive learning and collaboration experience designed to create a common foundation upon which to consider how to reimagine schooling in a way that ensures EVERY young person thrives. Yep, we do that. Out of that effort came the district's #graduateprofile characteristics and, from there the intentional effort to consistently have #learners from across the district weigh in on those characteristics was born. Flash forward to earlier this week - yet another randomly selected school, with 50 randomly selected #students, their #principal and "The Boss of Everything" (their understanding of the word "superintendent" 😀 ), along with members of the executive cabinet and staff - all together for one purpose - to listen. The follow on? Every word recorded and the team will use AI and other techs to analyze, pull themes, and share the thinking of these young people with staff and community! 🌤 Imagine how empowering it feels for young people when the adults slow down and. just. listen. 🌤 Imagine how empowering it feels for young people for adults to move beyond surveys and create the space for them to think out loud about their #learning experience. 🌤 Imagine the impact on #adults when you can put ideas, and concerns, and successes to a face because you were on hand to #listen as young people shared. Yep. We do that. Reach out if you'd like a copy of the facilitator guide AND share with us your thoughts on this prompt: "How are you "systematizing" your effort to listen to young people?" Another inspiring day at Hero’s Elementary! Today, we delved into the minds of our brilliant students during another round of listening sessions. Their insights and creativity shined brightly, lighting up every conversation. A huge thank you to all the facilitators who helped make today not just productive but also incredibly fun! 🙌 Let’s keep the ideas flowing and continue to transform our learning environment together. 💡📘 #WEareSAUSD #SAUSDBetterTogether #SAUSDGraduateProfile

Celebrating Michael Meechin of #TeamNCEE. We look forward to learning from you and your doctoral students! #LeadershipMatters
Last week, our UCF Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education celebrated its Executive EdD in Educational Leadership students with a research symposium for the graduating cohort. The evening highlighted the doctoral candidates' research and dissertations. Congratulations to these students on their excellent work and for being (almost) done with their program!
