Domestic Partnership

Definition and Purpose

Persons eighteen years or older who are financially co-dependent; not married to, separated, or in a domestic partnership with another person; have been living together for at least six months; and meet other requirements (those previously in a domestic partnership,  must enter a six month waiting period before applying for another one), may apply for a Domestic Partnership.

Domestic Partnerships are often used to establish health insurance coverage. The City will provide a formal certificate.

Applications are accepted at City Hall, 30 Church St., Room 100A, Monday - Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Fees

Domestic Partnership: $75
Replacement copy of the certificate: $10
