What woman wouldn't be thrilled to be blessed with feminine curves and show them off in clingy dresses and scoop-neck tops? If stars like Salma Hayek and Christina Hendricks are any indication, styling a busty figure should be a snap, right? Wrong. It turns out that dressing a busty figure is more difficult than we imagined.
Enter Esha, our gorgeous model. Esha is 5'4" and a DD. She explained that when she was 16 years old, she went from flat-chested to a D cup ... in one month. As she told us, "I felt really big everywhere. I didn't know how to dress my boobs, so I wore a lot of loose T-shirts."
Esha described shopping for bras in department stores where they told her she was a 32D. The "aha" moment came when she watched an episode of "Oprah" where the subject was how to dress busty women. The key, they said, was in finding the right bra. Esha immediately went to Intimacy, a New York lingerie boutique that specializes in a "woman friendly, holistic method of fitting." They measured her properly, only to discover that she was a 30DD. The mistake that she had been making -- that many women make as it turns out -- is only fitting the cup, when all the support comes from the band.
The proper bra offers support, holds everything in place and, above all, is ultimately more comfortable. But that's only one part of the puzzle when it comes to embracing and showing off your curves, rather than hiding under layers of fabric. Check out Esha as we got her to ditch the loose, sack-like clothes for a more body-conscious silhouette, as well as some styling tips for dressing your busty figure.
