HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR

HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR

Everybody knows that pavers, either travertine or brick, make a huge statement about a home! When choosing correctly, the color of your pavers should harmonize with the tones of your home, landscape and surrounding environment. That’s why Paver House offers you so many different color options. You can bring more light and character to your home driveway, patio or pool deck with any of the color options selected by Paver House. Just keep in mind that not everything needs to match perfectly. The paver colors should complement your home and tie the complete landscape together. For us, understanding your vision before starting your paver project is crucial in choosing the right paver colors. We hope these tips will help you to match the perfect paver colors to your home.

BASIC RULE OF THUMB WHEN SELECTING PAVER COLOR

Paver House suggests selecting hues that harmonize with your home. For example, pavers that are a few shades lighter than your home won’t compete with it, allowing the structure itself to serve as a focal point without confusing the eye.

CONSIDER THE EFFECT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHIEVE

Are you paving a pool deck? Or adding an extension to your existing patio? Perhaps you’re connecting your driveway to your backyard retreat with a walkway. Each application might be best suited for a different color. For a pool deck, we recommend light colors that are cooler on the feet, while a driveway might be better suited for a darker shade. If you’re adding onto an existing patio you might decide to complement the color and not try to match it exactly.

HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR: CONSIDER SUNLIGHT ON YOUR PAVERS

When designing your space, it’s important to consider where the sun hits and for how long. Colors can shift over time depending on the strength of the sunlight. If the area is completely shaded, you may want to opt for light-colored pavers which will lighten the area.

HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR: MONOTONE OR MULTICOLORED?

A monotone paver installation means that the color chosen is pure and without any variation. It’s usually modern and sleek but the problem is that this choice will show both large and small stains that may catch your likely fussed eye nearly every time you gaze at the surface.

HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR: TRAVERTINE PAVER COLORS

Travertine pavers are cut from natural stone. Natural stone paving materials have a special look, very different from man-made materials. The travertine color variation is more limited when comparing with the man-made brick pavers. All the travertine paver colors are variations of: Ivory, Gold, Walnut and Silver.

HOW TO CHOOSE PAVER COLOR: BRICK PAVER COLORS

The brick paver colors are achieved by conditioning various pigments in specific recipes. Because brick pavers are man-made, we have more colors to choose from. Brick paver colors can vary more than travertine pavers. You’re able to choose from a huge selection of Solid Gray Cement Based Colors, Blended Gray Cement Based Colors, Solid White Cement Based Colors and Blended White Cement Based Colors & the Premium Options.

When it comes to paver driveways, oil stains and tire marks are inevitable. In the backyard patio, spills from barbecue grease stains, bird droppings and other potential stains are also likely. Think about how much a stain or two will bother you. (But rest assured that one of the benefits of interlocking pavers is that your contractor can easily remove and replace them.)

If stains will bother you and replacing pavers each time a stain occurs isn’t in the cards, multicolored pavers are the way to go. These pavers usually have two or more variations in color and tend to hide stains very well. And, because multicolored pavers obviously have more colors in them, they tend to blend more seamlessly into existing environments.
