Report. The Royal Society redevelopment

The latest phase of development of The Royal Society, commissioned in 1999 and completed in November 2003, while setting out to anticipate and meet the Society's needs for the next 50 years, is part of a historic continuum. The objectives of the recent works undertaken and the design approach taken will first be described and compared with the objectives of the work undertaken by Lord Holford in the 1960s when The Royal Society moved from Burlington House to 6–9 Carlton House Terrace.
