Visakhapatnam: Noted educationist Prof. Yedla C. Simhadri died of coronavirus disease at a private hospital here on Saturday morning. He was 80.
Prof. Simhadri who served as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University from 2002 to 2005, had introduced several reforms, particularly in the area of punctuality and discipline.
He also served as Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University, Banaras Hindu University, and Patna University.
The Andhra University recently lost its first Rector Prof. GJV Jagannadha Raju (89) who died on May 13.
Prof. Raju was the first vice-chairman of Andhra Pradesh Council of Higher Education and also served as Vice-Chancellor of Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswati University and founder chairman of National Board of Accreditation.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor PVGD Prasad Reddy condoled the death of Prof. Simhadri and Prof. Raju and recalled their services rendered in the realm of education.
