Yahoo Sports, OLN to Stream NHL Games, Tour de France

Mike Shields

MAY 10, 2006 -

Yahoo Sports has inked a deal with OLN to distribute video footage of the network's top sporting events, including live NHL games and the Tour de France.

The exclusive agreement kicked-off last week, when Yahoo began streaming live NHL Stanley Cup playoff action. Besides games, Yahoo Sports will also begin featuring OLN sports-related content, such as its NHL studio recap show.

Highlight packages from a variety of other, lesser known events are included in the deal, including footage from the Boston Marathon, AMA Motocross and the Arena Football League. These game recaps will be incorporated within SportStream, Yahoo's weekly sports Webcast.

Yahoo Sports will continue to stream NHL games through the second round of the current playoffs, with daily OLN studio reports continuing on the site through the end of the season. The Yahoo/OLN partnership will expand in 2007, when Yahoo will carry three NHL games per week during both the regular season and the early rounds of the playoffs.
