Historical Internet Movie Database Site

The original World Wide Web interface for the Internet Movie Database was written and run here in Cardiff School of Computer Science & Informatics.

Then called the Department of Computing Mathematics, we were one of the early adopters of the Web, and ran an NCSA httpd web server on a Sun computer system.

The Cardiff Internet Movie Database interface was written by a PhD student, Rob Hartill, in 1993.

The Internet Movie Database became a separate company in 1996, and the web interface moved to their servers, ending the School's connection with the database.
