Caspar W. Weinberger, who as secretary of defense during the Reagan administration presided over the largest peacetime military buildup in US history, died yesterday at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He was 88 and had a home on Mount Desert Island. (Full article: 1433 words)
