The WB Television Network this week plans to pitch its new cable service, the WeB, to about a half-dozen MSOs, and it will hold a special video conference, open to TV stations and cable operators alike, to explain its plan.
"We can tell them about the programming opportunities," said Jamie Kellner, WB Network's CEO. "The WeB is not a cable network - it is a local TV station delivered by cable."
In order to boost distribution, WB Network is launching the WeB - a 24-hour satellite feed of WB Network shows and Warner Bros. and other syndicated programming - to be carried by cable operators in markets where WB Network doesn't have broadcast affiliates; DMAs ranked No. 100 to 212. …
