WorkCover Queensland is saddened to hear the news of the passing of Mr Ian Brusasco AO, former chair at WorkCover Queensland from 1998 to 2012.
Mr Brusasco had a very successful career making significant contributions to the community for which he was duly recognised with many honours. The most recent being his AO designation in 2012 and his Doctorate degree from Griffith University in 2013, for his tireless and distinguished services to the Queensland community through public administration, sporting and charitable organisations.
At WorkCover, Mr Brusasco was instrumental in transforming an underperforming insurer into one of Australian's best performing workers' compensation schemes. That work set the foundation to ensure WorkCover is the strong organisation it is today, delivering the services our customers' need and value.
WorkCover Chair, Ms Flavia Gobbo said "Mr Brusasco's passion and commitment to WorkCover as a business, its customers and the services we deliver is commendable.
"His legacy is something our customers and our people will continue to enjoy now and into the future."
