About Dr. Brian P. Maloney
Professional Statement
Brian P. Maloney, MD, specializes in facial plastic surgery/otolaryngology at the Maloney Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, located in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta. Dr. Maloney founded the practice in 2001 and serves as its president and medical director.

Internationally recognized for his skill in performing many types of advanced facial plastic surgery procedures, Dr. Maloney has been featured regularly on Discovery, Discovery Health, and The Learning Channel.

He performs a wide range of surgical cosmetic procedures and treatments for both women and men. They include facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty (“nose job”), facial fat transfer, blepharoplasty (eye lift), facial implants, otoplasty (ear surgery), and lip augmentation.

Dr. Maloney offers a variety of non-surgical skin-rejuvenation treatments as well, including many types of injectables (such as BOTOX® and JUVÉDERM®), carbon-dioxide (CO2) laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, collagen induction treatment (microneedling) with exosomes, and “liquid lifts.”

He also offers several acne treatments.

Dr. Maloney believes patient education is key to the best outcomes.

“I’ve focused my entire career on helping people brighten their facial images, and a big part of that is sharing my commitment to education with my patients,” he says. “There’s so much information — and misinformation — out there, and it can be confusing and overwhelming.”

“At the end of their first consultation, I want my patients to have a much better understanding of the issues concerning them and their treatment options than they did when they came in.”

Dr. Maloney serves as a clinical associate professor of surgery with the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership and as a trainer for Allergen, the manufacturer of several products and procedures he uses.

Dr. Maloney is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Maloney earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He completed his general surgical training and a four-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York.

He completed a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama.

Q&A with the doctor
What types of cosmetic procedures can be done on the ears?
Cosmetic ear surgery (otoplasty) may be performed to improve the ears’ size, shape, and position, as well as to repair earlobes damaged by injuries and piercing. As we age, earlobes lengthen. Earlobe reduction can help shorten long earlobes and restore youth to the face.
What are facial implants?
Facial implants can be used to make a person’s face more symmetrical, the cheekbones or jawline stronger, the chin more prominent, or the cheeks plumper. We perform cheek, chin, and lower jaw implants on an outpatient basis, using local anesthesia. Liquid implants such as fillers can be used to let patients try on a new look before committing to a more permanent option.
In what instances might you choose not to perform a cosmetic procedure for a patient?
It is so important that a patient has realistic expectations. Their motivations are really important, too. Surgery can help them feel better about themselves, but it will not save a job or relationship.
