The event is a major highlight of the international amateur calendar

Aberdeen has been announced as the venue for the prestigious 2011 Walker Cup golf competition. America will take on Great Britain and Ireland at Royal Aberdeen in the international amateur contest which takes places every two years.
Royal Aberdeen, formed in 1780, is the sixth oldest golf club in the world.
The Senior British Open was staged there last year, and it has hosted the Scottish men's and women's amateur championships at regular intervals.
David Hill, director of championships for the organising Royal and Ancient Club, said he believed Aberdeen would provide "a fitting showcase for amateur golf's premier match".
