Is it possible to re-open a lawsuit that was settled
if i had a lawsuit that was settled for a specific dollar amount through court, could the case possibly be re-opened?
I suspect you took the money to spend and you executed a release of all existing and future claims against the settling party. You may find it too late to do anything unless you can show fraud in the inducement. Check with a lawyer in your locale to discuss more of the details.
Good luck to you.
God bless.

Short of you being fraudulently induced to settle the case, it is very difficult to set aside a settlement that has been reduced to writing or put on the record in open court. Even if the settlement is not in writing, many times a court will enforce that settlement inasmuch as the law favors settlements. I do not know enough about the particulars of your case; however, generally, it is difficult to set aside a settlement.

Without the details it is difficult to say for certain. Normally if all the terms were complied with and releases signed, it is not possible, unless there was fraud or improper concealment of some kind. The length of time which has elapsed might als be relevant.
This issue would depend on the law of the state in questin. You should consult a local attorney, advise of all the facts and ask for state-specific advice.
