Aberdeen named among 'Supercities' by HSBC
Aberdeen has been singled out in Scotland as one of the key cities spearheading the UK's economy.
HSBC said the energy industry is behind the placing of the Granite City among the UK's 'Supercities', which are leading hubs for business.
The others are London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool, and Newcastle.
Earlier this year, Aberdeen was named as the only major British city to grow through the worst year of the downturn.
Accountancy group UHY Hacker Young measured the gross value added - the measure of a region's contribution to the UK economy in goods and services.
