    • Q:

Is this store currently open for in-person shopping (May 2021)? Here on Yelp, it says "closed" but also says, "special hours 10-6:30." Nobody answers when I call. I find it ironic that I can't tell if the store is open when I Google it.

      A:

Hi Julie! Thanks for your inquiry. The Google Merchandise Store is temporarily closed. You can visit our online store at: https://shop.Googlemerchandisestore.com. Have a great day!

      Is googleplex open on Sunday?

      A:

The campus is open all days so you can visit the outside but you can't get inside over weekends. During weekdays too, you need to be a visitor of a Googler to go inside.

This store is such a surprise! If you're a fan of Google or Google-related companies (e.g., YouTube, Android, WayMo, Nest, Fitbit, X, etc.), then you'll love this surprisingly big little store!

You can find plenty of geeky shirts as well as other Google (or related companies) branded items. Google also moved the Android statues to an area just outside of this store.

While some of their merchandise is a bit tourist-pricy, some of it is a bargain! There are some clearance items as well as some novelty items that are both geeky and very clever.

Tip: Park along Landings Dr. so that you can take some photos at the Android statues!

Not a huge store, but I like how this is available to the public instead of employees only. It has a neat collection of collectables that are good for your own collection or to gift to others, without being overly expensive.

While in the area, we thought it would be cool to stop by here.

While we didn't end up buying anything, there was some cool stuff.

The gadgets felt a bit out of place since you can find them online or at any tech retail store.

Most of the merch was pretty standard shirts and other clothing. There were a lot of drink containers (mugs, water bottles, etc). I was hoping there would be more unique things (Christmas ornaments, etc).

They converted an old run down apartment complex into the store. The inside is nice though.

Make sure to check out the Android dessert garden outside!

People with white badges, rainbow bikes, tons of tall trees, security guards in front of every building, food trucks/haircut truck, a fake dinosaur...where am I?

      Utopian-hippy-tech vibe...

There is a certain Google feeling when you step onto the grounds. Much of everything is accessible by badge-wearing employees and everyone seems to carry either this sense of pride as they chat with their friends on the way to their next meeting or an "I'm too busy working on this project, so let me pass you quickly with my laptop" aura.

Why visit Google? Cause it's like right here and Google influences everything from your email to your maps.

It was a strange yet fulfilling (in the sense that I can now say that I've visited Google) trip.

      That's all.

Unfortunately, I visited the store on a Sunday when they were closed so I didnt get a chance to see the Google merchandise. It might have been a good thing because I might have purchased a few souvenirs. Thanks Google for saving me some money! :-)

The visit was not a total loss because they moved the Android OS statues from one of their offices to the Google Merchandise store so I was able to take pictures of the statues.

I've been reading countless reviews about this place and it was on my go-to list during my trip. I went to the Google store about five years or so ago and I think it was exclusive like you had to know someone that worked there to go to the store. My husband knew someone who worked there so he let us in the store.

This time I was reading the reviews and it looked like they opened it to the public. I was excited. The store was in a different location and seemed like it had a wide variety of things.

Before going into the store they have all their figures that you can take pictures with. It's the Android OS versions. So they had a huge cupcake, donut, eclair, froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb, ice cream sandwich, KitKat, and Oreo. The figures looked kind of old and many of them were falling apart. There was even one that had caution tape around it because it was broken.

Inside the store, they sold t-shirts, water bottles, pens, notebooks, pretty much anything Google related. We ended up getting a couple of shirts, a few notebooks, some pens, and my daughter got a whole pack of emoticon stickers.

If you're looking for something unique to bring back home, Google is a great place to stop. I enjoyed looking for things here.

So full disclosure I'm a Googler and come here frequently. Whether it's a business guest visiting, a new hire or social guest needing swag this is the place to go. The staff is super friendly, helpful and always willing to bring me stuff from the back. Just like the rest of campus the store is Doogler friendly meaning my dog Kimchi is a regular.

The selection is good and there are tons of shirts, jackets, water bottles, stationary items and other things you can imagine. The one downside is not their fault at all, the only caveat for the 20% discount is on non-hardware items. If you want to buy Nest items in store you won't get the discounted, that has to be done online.

When I go on a trip, one of the first thoughts that pop into my head is "what souvenirs will I bring back?" During my visit to the Googleplex, the Google Merchandise Store helped answer my question.

Merchandise that runs the gamut of consumer needs are here for your discerning wallet. Plenty of Google, Android & Youtube branded apparel, from infant to adult sizes. The baby items were simply adorable.

Service was good. The main registers are in the rear of the store. The queue can quickly pile up with eager Google customers, so try to go during off hours. Better yet, another register by the entrance handles credit & Android Pay transactions only. Skip the line and take home your goods in no time!

On the right of the store, lies the Google Android Lawn Statues. It's a perfect place to take selfies & fancy porta-potties are by the sidewalk for relief.

I ended up taking home a Field & Co. rutsack, a Google+ detachable hood exercise jacket & a color-it-yourself droid toy. Because this is an official merchandise store, don't expect bargain basement prices. They're not super exorbitant, but certainly not cheap. The store was actually sparser than I imagined it would be. I was expecting something Disney-esque, with as much floorspace occupied by shelves of knickknacks & clothing as humanly possible. However, the layout was open & spacious enough to browse & shop w/o feeling crowded. A few sofas by the kids/toy section allow you to take a load off your feet.

When visiting the Googleplex in Mountain View, the Google Merchandise Store & Android Lawn Statues are definite musts. Seeing the colossal campus in the flesh is an experience in & of itself. However, what better way to recall the memories than with branded souvenirs & some goofy pics with the droid statues.
