SPD

SPD Cleat Sold Separately

In order to clip in with your new shoes, you'll need to install a set of SPD cleats. The Slipstream will not come with SPD cleats, so you will need to purchase these separately.

Any SPD cleat should be compatible with the shoes, and they are widely available for purchase online.

Check your bike's pedal to make sure it's compatible with TIEM's Slipstream cycling shoes

spd pedal

dual pedal

SPD Pedal

If your pedal looks like this, you're all set!

Please keep in mind that you will need a set of SPD cleats to install into your shoes in order to clip in. These are sold separately.

Look Delta Pedal

The Slipstream will NOT work with your pedals if they look like this.

Some bikes, such as Pelotons, will come equipped with these Delta style pedals. This is a different cleat than what our shoes use.

You can very easily install new SPD-compatible pedals on your bike if you would like to change that. Search online for guidance.

Dual Pedal

If your pedal has both SPD and Delta style connections, then you're good to go!

Some pedals come equipped with a different connection method on each side of the pedal. As long as one side of your pedal can accommodate an SPD cleat, you can use our shoes with ease (as long as you have an SPD cleat installed, of course).

THIRD TIME BUYER REVIEW
As a third time buyer of these shoes, here are a few tips and reviews of these shoes.1) BUY THEM A SIZE DOWN- I wear a my first pairs were a 9 and my 2nd was a 8 1/2 and 3rd pair are 8s. Yes, they might be too tight in the beginning, but TRUST ME and size down. They stretch an unbelievable amount, to the point where my foot almost slipped out of my 1st and 2nd pair after I wore them for 8-9 months.2) DONT BUY UNTIL UR COMFORTABLE SPINNING - The shoes that most spin studios have will have delta clips shoes, which are much bigger than the SPD clip that tiems use. If you do not have the strength and balance already built up, don’t buy these shoes. They don’t have much support, but when you feel comfortable enough to wear them, they are so lightweight and freeing when you are riding.3) If you purchase the shoes and screw in your SPD clips on your own, PLZ make sure that they are tailored for your feet and that they are straight. If you knees feel like they are leaning one way or another, they are not fit for you and you can seriously hurt yourself. My first ones were not and as a 21 year old, I was having knee pain of my 86 year old grandma. If you need help, studios or REI can help you screw them to your needs.4) if you’re on the fence, buy them. Overall, I absolutely love mine (hence why I’ve bought three pairs over the last 3 years) and delta clip shoes feel so bulky and restricting after wearing TIEMS for so long. They have lasted me for about a year and a few months each. Totally worth the investment, just make sure you are ready for the clip change.

I recently stumbled upon the TIEM Slipstream Indoor Cycling Shoes, and I must say, they have completely transformed my indoor cycling experience. As someone who has tried numerous types of cycling shoes in the past, the convenience and versatility offered by these shoes are simply unparalleled.

First and foremost, one of the standout features of the TIEM Slipstream shoes is their unique design, which seamlessly combines the style of a casual sneaker with the functionality of cycling shoes. This means that I no longer have to worry about changing shoes when transitioning from my car to the studio. The ability to wear them from the car straight into the studio is a game-changer, saving me time and hassle.

The fact that the Slipstream shoes are SPD compatible is another huge advantage. With these shoes, I can effortlessly clip into my bike pedals, ensuring a secure and efficient cycling experience. It's wonderful to have that extra level of connection and control between my feet and the bike, enhancing my overall performance and power output.

What I appreciate most about the TIEM Slipstream shoes is their commitment to providing a comfortable fit. The shoes are designed specifically for women, taking into account the unique shape of our feet. The soft, breathable materials used in their construction make for a snug yet flexible fit, allowing me to pedal with ease for extended periods without discomfort or hot spots.

While the clips for the shoes are sold separately, it's worth mentioning that this feature adds to the versatility of the Slipstream shoes. With the ability to customize the type of clip, I can easily adapt them to suit my preferred style of riding or swap them out if needed.

Overall, I cannot recommend the TIEM Slipstream Indoor Cycling Shoes enough. They offer a perfect balance of style, convenience, and functionality. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, these shoes are a worthy investment that will enhance your indoor cycling experience. Say goodbye to the hassle of changing shoes and embrace the freedom and confidence these shoes provide.

Based on other reviews, I got these with no real expectations but I have been VERY pleasantly surprised!

I bought these to wear in my spin class. I live two blocks from my studio so a shoe I could walk back and forth in was a plus for me.

Fit: I wear an 8.5 or 9 in street shoes, and I wear an 9.5 in Brooks and Asics running shoes. I had been wearing size 41 Shimano road cycling shoes rented from my studio. I had orginally purchased a pair of LG road shoes in 41 and they were way too tiny and narrow.

Based on reviews I read, I bought a 9.5 in the TIEMs. They do seem to run a TINY bit narrow, but not uncomfortably so. They feel secure in class. I have just enough room in the toe.

Performance: I had read a couple of reviews stating that people felt the TIEMs were not stiff enough under the foot when clipped in, but I did not have that experience. They do feel very much like a cycling shoe, and have a stiff hard plastic under the center of the foot, so riding out of the saddle is just fine. They have more cushioning than other cycling shoes, which I really liked. I was comfortable the entire class, more comfortable than I am normally in the Shimanos.

I do feel the cleats on the ground when waking on asphalt and cement, however walking around my home with hardwood floors was fine. Cleat installation was SUPER easy. I keep seeing people say they took them to a bike shop to do it but honestly it's just a matter of screwing them into the shoe.

Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase, I'll cover the cost of shoe rental in about two months, so they are well worth it, especially given the increased comfort, not having to change shoes at the studio, and that they are just cute.

So glad to find some comfortable cycle shoes after having some problems with custom orthotics that damaged my feet. They are a little tight in the toe box, but I have used them probably 10 times or more, and they might have stretched out a little. Overall, they have saved my feet so far. They seem a bit overpriced, but since they are working well, I can't really complain about that!

Pros: This shoe comes in actual (US) half sizes! Of the 20+ spin shoes I looked at, it was the only one. It was the most accurate shoe in length that I tried. The sole is great for walking in, which makes them great for spin class: you can walk across the gym floor without falling down. The heal does not slip. The knit fabric makes the shoes as comfortable as your gym shoes. They also seem to be made well. They are nice looking.

Cons: The shoe is one piece (no tongue). It is a very snug fit, which is good for keeping the shoe in place while cycling. However, it is so snug that it actually puts my feet to sleep and causes pain. This is because I have high insteps. I have friends who have this shoe, and they have no problem. They love their shoes. Also, there is no arch support . Inserting an arch support just makes the tight instep tighter.
So, if you have high insteps, need arch support, or if you have wide feet you won't be able to wear these shoes.
