A total of UAH 2.503 million has been transferred to the account of Anatoliy Hrytsenko, the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament's committee for national security and defense - the sum required for him to register as a presidential candidate.
The press service of Hrytsenko's NGO Civil Stance reported this on Friday.
This amount is enough to participate in presidential elections, the press service said.
Hrytsenko earlier asked ordinary Ukrainians and businessmen to help him collect the sum required to submit a deposit as a presidential candidate. The politician's own family allocated UAH 10,000 for this goal.
The new wording of the law on presidential elections foresees an increase in a deposit that should be submitted by presidential candidates, from UAH 500,000 to UAH 2.5 million.
