President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatlers called Viktor Yanukovych and heartily congratulated him on success in the elections of President of Ukraine. He expressed his hope that a friendly relationship between Ukraine and Latvia would develop successfully in the future.

Viktor Yanukovych thanked Valdis Zatlers for warm greetings and invited him to the ceremony of inauguration of the Head of Ukrainian state.

Ukraine and Latvia have always been true to the ideas of partnership built on mutual respect and shared democratic values, – Viktor Yanukovych said. – I see our joint task in upgrading relations between our countries.
