PACE, OSCE election observers are arriving in Ukraine
Nov 23, 2009 at 15:44 | Wire reportsHe said the team will be staying in Ukraine until Friday and is coming at the invitation of Ukrainian parliament speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn to PACE.
He added that an election monitoring mission of the OSCE Office on Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) starts working in Ukraine on Monday. Head of the mission is expected to meet the leadership of the Ukrainian Central Election Commission and the Foreign Ministry.
A total of 56 observers from OSCE member-nations are expected to come starting with November 29 to monitor the election process until Jan. 28, 2010.
The press secretary said that on polling day, January 17, some 600 international observers will be monitoring the elections.
