Favianna Rodriguez is a internationally renowned interdisciplinary artist, cultural organizer, and social justice activist based in Oakland, California. Collaborating with social movement groups worldwide, Rodriguez creates visionary and transformative art. Her vibrant posters weave narratives of immigrant rights, racial justice, global solidarity, and more. In 2019, Rodriguez visited the UC San Diego Institute of Arts and Humanities for a series of workshops as part of their Community, Arts and Resistance series. In a public talk where this art was first displayed, she discussed her artistic practice and shared how art can inspire, educate and spur the imagination.
