with no leader, the mole kingdom fell into disarray, with different factions fighting for resources and riots breaking out daily.

[–]jonnysteps 339 points340 points  (12 children)

They never saw it coming

[–]ohllllakkja 151 points152 points  (8 children)

And they see no way out

[–]savaldez3 85 points86 points  (4 children)

“They have taken the bridge… and the second hall.

We have barred the gates… but cannot hold them for long.

The ground shakes.

Drums… drums… in the deep.”

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (3 children)

*drops a bucket in chains loudly down a well *

[–]Icarus-V 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Fool of a Took! Throw yourself in next time, and rid us of your stupidity.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the one I was waiting for, gandalf dishing out those balrog burns.

[–]OK_Compooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, they’re all working for the other side, but no one knows it.

[–]Naa2078 241 points242 points  (7 children)

Oh. Just cuz he WHITE he gotta be the leader???

[–]philipjames11 147 points148 points  (5 children)

Mole society is very progressive. They're practically colorblind

[–]GamerTurtle5 23 points24 points  (4 children)

but u can still tell black and white apart while being colourblind

[–]GiggsBozon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Redwall was never the same.

[–]BellatrixLenormal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The try hard moles were rubbing dandelion dust on their pelts attempting to claim succession.

[–]JordanDesu13 1321 points1322 points  (15 children)

How many times did you have to reset your garden to catch this mole?

[–]ptyws 205 points206 points  (6 children)

that was such a nice refference. happy cake day btw!

[–]Jacksonrr3 144 points145 points  (4 children)

It's also in the name of the sub

[–]ptyws 86 points87 points  (3 children)

Can't believe I was this stupid... Forgive me, thought this was from another sub

[–]JordanDesu13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I need to come up with something to post. I completely forgot lol

[–]Mixhaeljeffreyjordan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]Timmymac1000 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Happy coinciding cake day!

[–]JordanDesu13 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Thanks! I completely forgot lol I need to come up with something to post

[–]BoseVati 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing Pokémon for 14ish years and have never found a shiny in the wild, while yes I did play a lot of Red and Blue, it still drives me nuts that the only shinys I have are red gyarados and trades

[–]Owny33x 618 points619 points  (15 children)

He's so cool, I would let him destroy m'y garden

[–]50Shekel 177 points178 points  (4 children)

Yeah, just him though.

[–][deleted] 135 points136 points  (2 children)

And that's how selective breeding was invented.

[–][deleted] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Well if it was just this fella, I figure there wouldn’t be any breeding

[–]craniumblast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

accidental mole white nationalism/eugenics

[–]hotwifeslutwhore 37 points38 points  (0 children)

His front claws are amazing

[–]TheYoungGriffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that an innuendo?

[–]panteatr 334 points335 points  (20 children)

where he eyes

[–]velvet_empire 268 points269 points  (4 children)

I believe they DO have eyes, just very small ones, which they tend to keep shut. For some reason its comforting to know that they're there, even if not visible in this pic

[–]Chelcsaurus-rex 83 points84 points  (1 child)

Yes. The tiniest eyes and ears

[–]1600cc 387 points388 points  (11 children)

He no eyes. He mole

[–]kahmehutaa 36 points37 points  (9 children)

Soneone gift this man an award please, his made chuckle my.

[–]1600cc 9 points10 points  (8 children)

They done did it.

[–]kahmehutaa 13 points14 points  (7 children)

He deserves it

[–]onlyabotpubgm 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They use nose and touch. The claws are for digging tunnels.

[–]sipsredpepper 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He eyes too small for he got dang face

[–]gleaming-the-cubicle 143 points144 points  (5 children)

Their hands are so freaky, they look like moose antlers

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 170 points171 points  (0 children)

I love his perma-jazz hands lol

[–]spidermonkey12345 28 points29 points  (1 child)

[–]gleaming-the-cubicle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I hate it

[–]alizarincrimson7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Weaponized flippers

[–]narpilepsy 275 points276 points  (4 children)

Has he taught you earth bending yet?!

[–]Channel5exclusive 77 points78 points  (1 child)

Nah not a badger mole... Speaking of which, there are badger moles in ATLAB but are there honey badger moles? How ungodly terrifying would they be?

[–]lordgunhand 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Toph was the Honey Badger Mole.

[–]Linked-Theory 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The mole keeps trying but unfortunately the translation has been tough

[–]Lynks6262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s rough Buddy

[–]Aloha_Po-ouli 634 points635 points  (23 children)

I had a golden retriever as a kid who would dig these guys up and then try to play with them. She would always get so disappointed when she inevitably killed them because they are not, in fact, other dogs

[–]Flyberius 183 points184 points  (8 children)

My aunt's dog just straight up eats them. Kinda brutal.

[–]rbe3_3 116 points117 points  (5 children)

My cat does too. She prefers to tear them open and eat the guts and leave the rest for me

[–]vitaq 62 points63 points  (2 children)

She's leaving you the good meat

[–]clayism 11 points12 points  (0 children)

aww that's kinda sweet

[–]PUTINS_PORN_ACCOUNT 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Cats are metal af

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welp, that's one way to handle a mole problem...

[–]matwithonet13 43 points44 points  (2 children)

Better than my dog. 3 times since we’ve moved to this house, he’s chomped one in half and I either find the other half by the back door or one time I saw it right as it went under the mower. It was horrifying.

[–]Lacasax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dog once scooped one up in his mouth and dropped him in my hand. He was fine, although probably terrified now that I think about it.

[–]thavi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well that was sad as shit

[–]tabasco_YUL 95 points96 points  (1 child)

Jazz hands!

[–]46554B4E4348414453 40 points41 points  (0 children)

i like how he looks like hes shrugging.

got caught. oh well. shrug

[–]Doc-in-a-box 70 points71 points  (1 child)

It looks happy to have finally reached status on social media

[–]jdevowe 103 points104 points  (2 children)

From their perspective, the moles have a human problem. The humans put a yard in their way.

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 115 points116 points  (1 child)

True. But I take them to a whole forest, so I hope they appreciate the upgrade 😁

[–]kiravicars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yay!! I was hoping you’d explain what you did with them, and this is best case scenario! Makes me happy they can keep living their lil mole lives.

[–]Icedcoffeekid 34 points35 points  (0 children)

lmao he looks so smug i love him

[–]alm420 101 points102 points  (1 child)

Moles be kinda cute tho

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 98 points99 points  (0 children)

He's super cute! Tbh, I thought I had found a hamster at first 😅

[–]GhostWokiee 158 points159 points  (27 children)

Don’t kill, release him :((

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 355 points356 points  (25 children)

Oh yes, in case anyone else is worried, I relocate them to the woods.

[–]GhostWokiee 183 points184 points  (13 children)

Phew, good man! Even if animals are often considered pests, they don’t deserve to lose their life doing what they were born to do’

[–]8d-M-b8 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Are you the reason this woman found a mole in the foresr today?

[–]Anomaly1134 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right on!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, we used to do the same. :)

[–]klol246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you catch them?

[–]Gundam_Ez8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, mind if I ask how you catch the moles? My yard gets them bad every year but I don't want to kill anything.

[–]GayHotAndDisabled 214 points215 points  (8 children)

This is literally the cutest creature I have ever seen. I would die for this mole.

[–]MauiJim 77 points78 points  (4 children)

I suppose that could be arranged...

[–]N00T_637 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Public execution or a sacrifice to the sun god?

[–]MauiJim 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Death by self immolation

[–]Sophilosophical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

immolation

I sure hope this was intentional

[–]Glassberg 31 points32 points  (0 children)

[–]CatPatronus 23 points24 points  (3 children)

I just realised this is the first time I've ever seen a real mole

[–]unsilviu 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yeah, usually you only see the tip of their nose, the rest is beneath your skin.

[–]imaginexus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m stupid. I thought this was a baby platypus until I read the other comments.

[–]rustcatvocate 33 points34 points  (6 children)

Could also be leucistic. Hard to say what impact it would have given their low exposure.

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 20 points21 points  (5 children)

Have to say, I really don't know the difference.

[–]rustcatvocate 31 points32 points  (4 children)

Albinism is a defect in melanin or its expression in the body. Leucism is a partial loss of melanin, usually white hair and skin but more normal eyes. Piebaldism is when leucism is in patches and can happen a few different ways but is usually some form of mosaicism or chimerism. Genetics are weird and as soon as you think you understand them they end up even weirder.

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Til 😁

[–]Jackalman1408 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just means you've got over 100,000 moles left to grab mate ... Good luck!

[–]Glassberg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sounds like those moles have a you problem.

[–]vodka_berry95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That guilty smirk! "Yeah, you caught me."

[–]Enlight1Oment 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you take a moment to rub that belly?

[–]pipedreamer79 76 points77 points  (63 children)

Get a husky, mine is incredibly good about knowing where they are, digging them up, and eating them.

[–]Something_Wicked_627 39 points40 points  (24 children)

Are moles considered pests?

On a scale of Racoon to wasp how “pesty” are they?

[–]DetroitPeopleMover 60 points61 points  (1 child)

Depends on if you like holes in your yard...

[–]agarwaen117 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Only if you dislike lumps in your dirt.

Otherwise, they eat bugs that are bad for your lawn.

I’d rate these things as Possom on your proposed scale. Pretty much harmless, good benefits, bad image.

[–]notsamire 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Over time their tunnels collapse and leave your yard really uneven and can lead to some twisted ankles.

[–]agarwaen117 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having to pay attention to where you step while outdoors. That’s definitely a reason to eradicate an entire species from an area.

[–]Raaqu 20 points21 points  (3 children)

About to steps short of wasp. Shitty af, but at least they don't directly attack you.

[–]markender 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I sprayed a wasp nest the other day and the next day there were, three big dead larvae on the ground below the nest. Rot in hell you bastards!

[–]mykewlpro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best feeling ever. Fuck those guys

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also moles, unlike bees, can sting you multiple times

[–]ka4bi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

noooooo

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (23 children)

Why specifically a husky... any dog would be able to hunt them pretty well

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (19 children)

Terriers are pretty good when it comes to hunting small things, too. My Yorkie used to hunt snakes in the garden and my Jack Russell mix used to chase rats and birds.

[–]sleepytipi 9 points10 points  (4 children)

So are Dachshunds. That's what they were bred for.

[–]pipedreamer79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can just speak from personal experience, I’ve had 3 dogs in my life and neither of my others have gone after moles. My husky is incredibly quick and efficient about it.

[–]Defiantcanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After owning a part husky and knowing others who do as well they have pretty high murder instincts.

[–]thatG_evanP 8 points9 points  (5 children)

Apparently so are pitbulls because my yard now has collapsed mole tunnels plus two giant excavations that my dog did to get to the moles. And as I've tried explaining to people, it's a real bitch when a dog digs a hole because they don't place the dirt next to it so you can fill it back in. The damn backfill is all over my fucking yard.

[–]pipedreamer79 6 points7 points  (1 child)

That’s unfortunate. One reason I’m thankful my husky surgically extracts them from the ground rather than digging up holes.

[–]Luquitaz 6 points7 points  (2 children)

yeah pitbulls are pretty good at killing things

[–]native_usurper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can some one draw guilty eyes on him?

[–]heslopkaleb 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Jazz hands

[–]TyrannosaurusRekt- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at this smug little fucker

[–]NuclearWalrusNetwork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to breed a subspecies of domestic fancy mole that can be kept as pets similar to fancy rats. Who's with me?

[–]ItsGwenoBaby 4 points5 points  (1 child)

But the drop rate of the mole pet is 1:3,000

[–]Sir_Fistingson[🍰] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He just wanted some bird nests bro

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HE HANDS TOO BIG FOR HE GODDAMN HIM

[–]TheTallOne93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"it's me"

[–]keep_running 3 points4 points  (0 children)

his hands are so awesome !

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These dudes have the strangest skeletal structure. Their humorous has evolved into a totally differently shaped bone to allow them their constant side-to-side digging motion!

[–]Oregongrown96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Please sir if you are done with photo I would like be put down”

[–]OakenBones 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Huh, just had the thought that, assuming the chance of an albino mole being born are 1 in 100,000, the chances of any given human encountering that particular mole would have to be far more narrow, given how seldom a person encounters a mole at all, let alone an albino individual. I remember learning introductions to probability, game theory, formal logic, and statistics in college (never studied those beyond 100 level courses except for logic) and there were so many mind blowing moments learning to wrap your head around chance.

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! I never thought of it this way!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does he bite?

[–]WillowWispFlame 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I don't live somewhere with moles. Are they dangerous? Can you really just pick one up like this and be fine? Do they bite? I'm intrigued. They look like weird small pillow pets, or if a bean bag was alive. Are they like mice? Fast or slow above ground? I really want to hold one now.

[–]raphto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s slow , and it’s dangerous more for the ground and plantation and the look of your garden than for you

[–]TheRobotics5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smiley boi

[–]Adsylrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks so photogenic

[–]keshmarorange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Unhand me now, human!"

[–]Rukanau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I forgot moles existed for the last 15 years or so, till I saw this.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, just pick up the wild rodent

[–]Jellymonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

spank him and send him on his way

[–]Tanzklaue 2 points3 points  (1 child)

albino moles are actually among the most common albinos in nature, since living in the darkness makes being a huge white target less of an elimination factor!

[–]ReasonablyConfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So whatcha wanna do here is give them small bits of supposedly classified info, but you tell each one something slightly different. When the info slips out, you can tell who it is by the details of the info.

Boom, no more mole problem.

[–]DullInitial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd think there would be more albino moles. I mean if there is one creature that isn't going to be disadvantaged by albinism, its moles.

[–]superteryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this post made me realize I've never actually seen a mole in a real life setting

[–]Zappa1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

QTπ

[–]GenderlessBatcaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad caught one like this when he was a kid! Weirdly he just told me this today. It was orange and white, colored similar to a cat, and HUGE.

[–]kgirl1225 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Where did you find this? Like do these live in people’s yards normally somewhere??

[–]SimsAreShims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was he soft?

[–]AidanSig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He seems like a chill guy

[–]zhentarim_agent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

moles are stupid cute

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks like he's giving you a "hey I got caught, but can you blame me for trying guy?"

[–]Timmymac1000 5 points6 points  (5 children)

How did you catch him?

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Patience. Following the mushy spots in my yard (his tunnel) until you see a part move. Unfortunately for them, once they're spotted, I can dig faster.

[–]Love_My_Chevy 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Was he hard to catch? I don't imagine these guys being able to move super fast

Ninja edit: forgot some words

[–]420wasabisnappin[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not really, but it would have been quicker had I remembered my gloves. Their fur is so soft and smooth they can just slip right out of your hands. I got lucky (twice) with this one because I saw the ground move as I was headed to get gloves and my trowel. And I seriously thought for a moment that he was a little hamster

[–]ilovedoumanseiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll never see it coming

[–]TwoDevTheHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hehe he's like aayy

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His little expression looks exactly like that funny mole character from Wes Anderson's adaption of Fantastic Mr Fox

[–]Labrat4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fine of example of something so ugly its cute!

[–]jroddie4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude you have way too many moles in the yard for that drop rate

[–]Flyberius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moles look like badly sculpted Warhammer models from the early 90s.

[–]xirdnehrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, free pet

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could hold him

[–]xPhilip 1 point2 points  (1 child)

For some reason I always thought moles were the size of cats

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hes so chill look at him just vibing
