Last updated on November 17, 2021

The Web Importer has recently been redesigned and it requires access to cookies on your machine with your login details. This has caused a problem with some users'  internet browsers. If you're having this problem, you will need to allow cookies on your internet browser for brxt.mendeley.com and id.elsevier.com. if they have been disabled. Follow the instructions for your browser below to do this:

Chrome
  1. Click 'Settings' (three black dots on the top right of the screen).
  2. Under 'Privacy and security', click 'Cookies and other site data'.
  3. Select an option, either:
    • Allow all cookies
    • or

    • Block third party cookies in Incognito (note that selecting this option means Web Importer will not work when using Icognito)

For more information you can have a look at Google Chrome's page on cookies and site data.

Microsoft Edge
  1. Click 'Settings' (three black dots on the top right of the screen).
  2. Click 'Site Permissions' in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click 'Cookies and site data' in the menu that appears.
  4. Then, under 'Cookies' make sure Edge is set to 'Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)' and 'Block third-party cookies' is not enabled.

For more information you can have a look at the Microsoft Edge page on browsing, data and privacy.
