Auch wenn für den Untersuchungsgegenstand dieses Beitrags gilt, dass wir immer mehr über immer weniger wissen, so sind die makroskopisch erkennbaren Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den städtisch geprägten Staaten Skandinaviens doch stark genug, um von einem Vergleich gemä der „most similiar case“-Methode zu sprechen. Diese Gemeinsamkeiten sind Ausdruck spezifisch skandinavischer kulturhistorischer, politischer und wirtschaftlicher Entwicklungen, die bis heute wirkungsmächtig sind.
