the mass function of dark matter halos

the mass function

  • code to produce the halo mass function: genmf_v1.01.tar

  • download here if above link is broken

This code produces the mass function fits to simulations in Reed et al. 2007 (Reed, Bower, Frenk, Jenkins, & Theuns; Institute for Computational Cosmology, Durham, England). astro-ph/0607150.

Please cite Reed, Bower, Frenk, Jenkins, and Theuns 2007, MNRAS, 374, 2, if you use this code.
Note: Code refers to this mass function as Reed et al 2006, but final publication date is 2007.

  • Oct. 23 2006 REVISION 1.01:
CHANGES: replaced previous version of example power spectrum file lcdm.pow, with new good version.
Due to a bug, previous version of lcdm.pow had ns=1.0, when it was meant to have ns=0.951.
            Code itself is unchanged.

  • Fit is based on new simulations that resolve halos down to 10**5 Msun/h and up to redshift 30.

See the "readme" file for more details.

Note that this code computes the global mass function for an infinite universe.
See Reed et al (2006) for description of how to compute the mass function including the effects of finite simulation volume.

    Described in detail at astro-ph/0607150
