KNODE and Wiley Collaborate on Next-Generation Research Portal

Earlier this month, Boston-area scholarly research portal developer KNODE announced a new partnership with Wiley to expand its services beyond the life sciences to better compete in this burgeoning marketplace and to identify and network scholars and researchers to improve research collaboration and exchange.

Springer Collaborates With Italian Society of Endocrinology
Springer Science+Business Media joined forces with the Società Italiana di Endocrinologia (Italian Society of Endocrinology; SIE) to publish the electronic-only, peer-reviewed Journal of Endocrinological Investigation. Springer agreed to a 5-year collaboration that makes the journal available exclusively on SpringerLink, its database of electronic STM content.
EBSCO Gains New President and CEO
EBSCO appointed Tim Collins president and CEO of the company effective July 1, 2014. Collins, who is the current president of EBSCO Information Services (the largest division of EBSCO), will work from his office in Massachusetts. All executives will report to him; EBSCO Information Services will not have a new president.
Government Reforms Intelligence Collection Policies
The White House announced the adoption of reforms for how the government collects intelligence information. These reforms coincide with the release of "Presidential Policy Directive/PPD-28," a blueprint for dealing with signals intelligence activities in the U.S. and internationally. It reports on new principles for intelligence collection and strengthens the executive branch's monitoring of activities.
