I traveled to Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku this summer and kept this book with me along the way. It's got decent maps and highlights for major cities. I wish the index was slightly more thorough to make finding specific places on the fly a bit easier. The book is probably best read for planning a trip while at a desk, not always so on the go. There were a few keys details that would have been helpful to know, like a map of the airport (to get to the buses), and a few tips about the long distance buses. For example, it took me awhile to figure out that the long distance bus stalls were underground.

It's not a bad book to have on hand if you are in a major city with no particular plans for the day. Browse, pick something, and go for it.

Outstanding Travel Guide. I bought this for my daughter who is going to Finland for several weeks. She really likes this guide and is planning her trip accordingly now.

Excellent guide for those who are into nature. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because it's not the greatest source for the description of the cities. I actually bought Steve Rick's book that was also excellent but very limited to the big cities. So the combo was excellent, used both books. You could get by with just this one, especially if you are going into woods and lake areas mostly.

I only buy Lonely Planet books now. Traveling quite a bit and having seen several books, the Lonely Planet series is the way to go. As always, these travel books are very comprehensive and can really zone in on the little things as well.

Information in book old and out of date

Maps hard to follow if not familiar with the country. Difficult to know where you are if there's no familiar place of reference. But great insights into places of interest. Would definitely recommend to new travellers looking for interesting destinations.

Das Buch kam beschädigt an. Sehr enttäuschend. Kann man in dem gelieferten Zustand nicht verschenken. Kauft es lieber im Buchhandel. Der Reiseführer an sich ist klasse!
