ASM and the American Society for Virology Partner to Promote Virology Research

July 6, 2018

Washington, D.C. - July 6, 2018 - The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the American Society of Virology (ASV), making ASM’s Journal of Virology an ASV’s affiliated journal.

ASM is now extending their ASM member discounts to full ASV members for JVI individual subscriptions, page charges, APCs for optional open access, supplemental material hosting, and the purchase of reprints and e-prints. This is an average savings of over $1,200 per manuscript.

“No one person or society can be successful alone. We are extremely proud of our partnership with American Society of Virology to collaborate in publication, advocacy, and outreach efforts,” said Stefano Bertuzzi, CEO, ASM

ASM’s Journal of Virology publishes top innovative research that explores the nature of the
viruses of animals, archaea, bacteria, fungi, plants, and protozoa. ASV’s community of virologists will create, advance, discuss and promote this key research.

“The American Society for Virology is pleased to formalize this affiliation with the American Society for Microbiology. We anticipate many future mutual beneficial activities and opportunities. We encourage ASV members to take advantage of the opportunity to publish their high quality research in Journal of Virology, an ASV-affiliated journal,” said Stacey Schultz-Cherry, President, American Society of Virology.

JVI is the top-cited journal in the virology category of the Journal Citation Reports® (JCR) and is reviewed by the most qualified editors in the field of virology who are working scientists. ASM and ASV look forward to our ASV colleagues getting their virology findings published quickly, reviewed by their peers in a fair manner and get published by a not-for-profit scientific society like JVI.
