The San Juan County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking qualified individuals to fill multiple 4-H Afterschool Educator positions. As a 4-H Afterschool Educator, you will be required to provide enriching 4-H afterschool clubs for students at Blanding Elementary School. - 4-H Afterschool Educators need to be available Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm for the entire 23-24 academic school year. - The position will pay $15.00 per hour for up to 12hrs per week. - This position can also be continued as an educator for the Blanding Elementary Summer School program for up to 20hrs per week.
4-H After School is a grant funded program designed to help youth enjoy enriching club activities in out of school time. Club leaders instruct groups of youth through various curriculum over the school year.
The site coordinator will oversee the afterschool program at a school in Kearns. They will work with educators, parents, and students in Kindergarten to 8th grade. The successful applicant will work up to 25 hours a week implementing afterschool work and inputting data to illustrate grant success. The site coordinator will be the primary liaison between families and the afterschool program.
Afterschool Educators will oversee the daily activities associated with the afterschool program, will work closely with the afterschool coordinator and school administrators to ensure that youth are engaging in positive youth development activities. This position will be at multiple locations.
The technician is responsible for scheduling an appointment with small growers, helping install a smart irrigation controller on their site, and providing hands-on training on using the smart irrigation controller. We will train hired technicians on installing and programming smart irrigation controllers immediately after hire.
The San Juan County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking a qualified individual to fill an After-school Teacher Position. As an After-school Teacher, you will be required to assist the After-school Coordinator and Educators who are providing 4-H After-school clubs for students at Blanding Elementary School. The after-school Teacher will need to be available Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm-6:00 pm for the entire 22-23 academic school year. The position will pay $25 per hour for up to 10hrs per week. This position can also be continued into the Blanding Elementary Summer School program for up to 16 hours per week.
Utah State University Extension is seeking multiple outgoing and positive individuals to serve as Community Liaisons responsible for supporting programming and community engagement efforts as part of a federally funded substance misuse prevention project in Salt Lake, Box Elder, Carbon, and Emery Counties. The primary role of these positions is to facilitate project involvement of population subgroups within their respective counties, which may include people in rural areas, Hispanic and Latino/a/e people, Native American or tribal people, Pacific Islanders, and/or youth and families from refugee populations. Community Liaisons will work to promote educational workshops, in-person and virtual programs, and other project services while identifying and reducing participation barriers such as language and transportation for underserved subgroups. We encourage applicants who are from, or have connections to, one of the population subgroups mentioned above to apply. The number of hours worked each week and work schedule will vary based on project phase and applicant availability but is estimated to average to around four hours per week across the year. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary, and applicants must have their own transportation. This is a non-benefited position.
