Die politische Opposition in der Regierungslehre. Systematische Überlegungen zu einem unterbelichteten Begriff

Zussamenfassung

Der Beitrag unternimmt zunächst eine systematische Annäherung an das Phänomen der politischen Opposition, indem die Verwendung des Begriffs sowohl in der traditionellen als auch in der neueren Regierungslehre diskutiert wird. Davon ausgehend wird eine neue Typologisierung anhand zweier Kriterien vorgeschlagen: der Regelakzeptanz sowie der politischen Intensität der politischen Opposition. Die Beobachtung eines Verschwindens der politischen Opposition wird auf eine Vernachlässigung des Gegenstands in relevanten theoretischen Ansätzen und Konzepten der Politikwissenschaft zurückgeführt und steht im Gegensatz zum gegenteiligen Befund einer Intensivierung der politischen Opposition, wie sie etwa im Erstarken populistischer Bewegungen sichtbar wird. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Paradoxons fragt der Autor, welche Bedeutung der Opposition angesichts der Dynamiken der politischen Prozesse in den (post)modernen Gesellschaften gegenwärtig und zukünftig zukommt.
