Chinese carmakers back on Indian auto industry radar With Leapmotor now tipped to get the go-ahead for setting up shop in India, it joins SAIC of China which recently got into an alliance with the JSW Group to keep its growth momentum going. Leapmotor is 20% owned by Stellantis which has facilities for manufacturing Citroen and Jeep in India. Ex-Tesla member partners with Indian EV maker to produce 98.5% efficient e-motors The companies are targeting manufacturing of electric motors this year initially in their Punjab-based plant. They will be in three different sizes One size is suitable for E2Ws and E3Ws, the second is for passenger e-trucks, and mid-range motors, and the third will be heavier motors for buses and trucks. #HeroMotoCorp confident of gaining market share this year; to set up new unit in #Brazil . Two wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has reported a 17% growth in its consolidated profit after tax (#PAT) at INR 943.46 crore in January-March 2024 quarter. The company which has seen its share dip in the market during the last few years, is confident of driving #MarketShare gains in the current financial year 2024-25 “on the back of our launches in the premium and 125 cc segment done in FY24”. . Hero will also set up a new wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil, which will most likely be named ‘Hero MotoCorp do Brasil Ltd.”  .
