During the Second World War, Croatian government led by the Ustashas organized death camps. Ustasha's group of five camps, collectively called, Jasenovac existed from the 20th of August 1941 to the 23rd of April 1945. Probably between 100,000 and 200,000 or better approximately about 150,000 (up to ±33%) human beings were killed in the Jasenovac camps.

Today, as the time of writing the whole book known as De administrando imperio (DAI) we can determine a time between around 926 and November 959. According to the usual translation in the chapter 31 of DAI: “there were 60,000 horsemen and 100,000 infantry in the Baptized Croatia”. It's nonsense. The mistake appeared as a consequence of the wrong reading of the abbreviation «ᾷᾷ» (ἀλλάγια), interpreted as Greek «,α» (1,000), and from the wrong assumption that “thousand” (χίλια, η), as a military unit has the same as a mathematical number 1,000 units (soldiers). In the chapter 31 DAI the description: «[Ἰστέον] ὅτι ἡ βαπτισμένη Χρωβατία ἐκβάλλει καβαλλαρικὸν ἕως τῶν ξ’ ᾷᾷ [ἀλλάγια], πεζικὸν δὲ ἕως χιλιάδας ρ’ ...», should be translated as: “[Should know] to Baptized Croatia flows into and spreading cavalry up to 60 alagias [military unit called alagia = 50-400 cavalrymen] and infantry up to 100 thousand [military unit called “thousand” in the 10th century = 400-1,000 infantrymen] ...” The writer of DAI described probably (the basic and smallest alagias, and the smallest “thousand”) up to 3,000 cavalrymen, up to 40,000 infantrymen (and up to 4,700 sailors). In this description, verb «εκβάλλω» (flows into and spreading) show a possibility that two different armies were merged. Оne army, «εκβάλλω», flows into Croatia from Serbia in 924 (or 926), while the other army belonged to Croatia. It seems to me that the word «Ἀλογοβότουρ», in the chapter 32 of DAI, was formed from the Greek word «άλογο, το» (horse), or «άλογος, -η, -ο» (stupid, wordless) and the Bulgarian word «βαγατουρ» (багатур). «Ἀλογοβότουρ» (Ἀλογοβαγατουρ) is a commander of a cavalry, or a stupid commander.
