Volatility clustering and asymmetry are considered as an essential element in time series data analysis for portfolio managers. This study is conducted to analyze the volatility clustering and asymmetry occurrence by employing different GARCH models. Data is collected from 11 Religion Dominant Countries (RDCs) based on daily stock returns from 2011 to 2017. The findings of the study show that volatility clustering increases the asymmetric comportment of daily stock market returns. We estimated the analytical competence of GARCH models and found that GJR-GARCH and EGARCH executed better results than GARCH (p, q) in RDCs stock markets. It also shows that GJR-GARCH and EGAECH explain the asymmetric behavior along with an accurate assessment of volatility clustering for the selected 11 RDCs stock markets. This study helps managers, investors, and corporations to make investment-related decisions.

The current study empirically examine the interrelationship between service brand credibility, attitude toward brand and purchase intentions. Furthermore, the study also investigates the mediating role of attitude toward brand in understanding the relationship between brand credibility and purchase intentions in service sector of Pakistan. The results are based on the perceptions of universities students (n = 309) regarding fast food restaurants and transport services in Pakistan. Linear regression and Sobel test are used to examine the proposed hypotheses. The results reveal that both brand credibility and attitude toward brand positively impact purchase intentions. The attitude toward brand partially mediates the relationship between brand credibility and purchase intentions. This study provides insights for advertisers and brand managers to manage brand communication campaigns more consciously and deliberately in service sector. The limitations are also discussed along with recom...

The aim of this paper is to investigate the interrelationship among intellectual capital, organizational learning capability and market performance in banking sector of Pakistan. Moreover, it also examines the mediating role of organizational learning capability in intellectual capital and market performance relationship. The primary data was collected from 263 branches of 22 public and private scheduled banks operating in Pakistan. The structural equation modeling results reveal that both intellectual capital and organizational learning capability enhances the market performance. The mediating role of organizational learning capability among intellectual capital and market performance is fully supported. The study has implications for both academicians and practitioners. Theoretically, it contributes in literature by providing a mechanism through which intellectual capital may be translated into market performance. From managerial perspective, this study proposes that the top manag...

Consumers have emotional bond with the brands that are closer to their self-concept. The product involvement is consumers’ perception of relevance of a product with needs, goals and consumers’ self-concept. Therefore, the study aims to reconsider the role of product involvement in the association of self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment. Furthermore, the study investigates the association of self-congruence facets and emotional brand attachment depending upon product type. The study followed a mixed method research approach and involved a focus group study and a survey. Hypotheses testing (through AMOS and Process Macro) indicated that ideal self-congruence yielded substantial influence on product involvement and emotional brand attachment. Whereas, ideal self-congruence direct effect on emotional brand attachment turned out to be insignificant in presence of mediator. Furthermore, the effect of product involvement on emotional brand attachment significantly depends ...

The ongoing debate to unlock the black box between HRM and performance is yet to be fully concluded. This paper addresses the recent calls by adding three employee outcomes (affective commitment, job satisfaction, and turnover intention) as a mediating mechanism in the causal chain from HR implementation level - i.e., the extent of organization's HR practices that are implemented by each line manager - to work performance. Primary data was collected through a self-administrative survey from 200 permanent employees and 82 supervisors/line managers working in four manufacturing firms. The data was analyzed using SPSS process macros and AMOS. The results reveal that line managers HR implementation level increases work unit performance. Furthermore, an elevated level of HR implementation enhances employees’ affective commitment and job satisfaction and reduces their turnover intention and mediating role of these employee outcomes is fully supported by our data. The paper advances th...

Ferroelectric materials owning a polymorphic nanodomain structure usually exhibit colossal susceptibilities to external mechanical, electrical, and thermal stimuli, thus holding huge potential for relevant applications. Despite the success of traditional strategies by means of complex composition design, alternative simple methods such as strain engineering have been intensively sought to achieve a polymorphic nanodomain state in lead‐free, simple‐composition ferroelectric oxides in recent years. Here, a nanodomain configuration with morphed structural phases is realized in an epitaxial BaTiO3 film grown on a (111)‐oriented SrTiO3 substrate. Using a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches, it is revealed that a threefold rotational symmetry element enforced by the epitaxial constraint along the [111] direction of BaTiO3 introduces considerable instability among intrinsic tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral phases. Such phase degeneracy induces ultrafine ferroel...

This paper attempts to understand the linkage of dividend decisions and investors’ perceptions within the context of the Pakistani corporate sector. It is intended to proffer new evidence for designing dividend policies that satisfies investors’ perceptions. Data are collected from individual investors by using questionnaires to obtain opinions about essential factors, patterns, processes and preferences for cash dividends. Results indicate that stability in the rate of dividend, compatibility with the inflation rate and continuity of dividend payment are the top-ranking factors for investors. Stock dividends are preferred by Pakistani investors if their company is not paying cash dividends, and share buy-back decisions are taken negatively. The theoretical explanation for preferring dividends indicates that Pakistani investors support dividend signaling theory, agency cost, clientele effect, asymmetric information effect, tax effect and rational expectation models. That is why it e...

A thermotropic phase boundary between non-ergodic and ergodic relaxor phases is tuned in lead-free Bi1/2Na1/2TiO3-based ceramics through a structural transition driven by compositional modification (usually named as “morphotropic approach”). The substitution of Bi(Ni1/2Ti1/2)O3 for Bi1/2(Na0.78K0.22)1/2TiO3 induces a transition from tetragonal to “metrically” cubic phase and thereby, the ergodic relaxor ferroelectric phase becomes predominant at room temperature. A shift of the transition temperature (denoted as TF-R) in the non-ergodic-to-ergodic phase transition is corroborated via temperature-dependent dielectric permittivity and loss measurements. By monitoring the chemical composition dependence of polarization-electric field and strain-electric field hysteresis loops, it is possible to track the critical concentration of Bi(Ni1/2Ti1/2)O3 where the (1 − x)Bi0.5(Na0.78K0.22)0.5TiO3-xBi(Ni0.5Ti0.5)O3 ceramic undergoes the phase transition around room temperature. At the Bi(Ni0.5T...

This study explores the linguistic variation of periodized data of Pakistani press editorials in comparison with American press editorials. Most of the previous research studies conducted on Pakistani English, in general, and press editorial, in particular, compare Pakistani English with British English. No study compares Pakistani press editorials from a period to American press editorials. To trace the influence of American English on Pakistani English, this study explores the phases of Pakistani press editorials that resemble or differ from American press editorials. Biber’s (1988) multi-dimensional modal was used as a theoretical framework for this study. It exploited a diachronic corpus of Pakistani press editorials which was divided into three temporally distanced phases: 1947-1951, 1971-1975, and 20122016. The Biber tagger was employed to annotate grammatical features. To draw a comparison, Nini’s (2015) MAT results of the American (Brown) corpus were utilized. The regression...
