The Hagadone Media Group has a rare, immediate opportunity in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for a page designer who wants to be an integral part of our pagination team!

Some experience at a copy desk is preferred but not necessary. What’s essential is being skilled at page design, line editing, meeting deadlines, and getting along with colleagues. Experience working with InDesign is a must.

This is for an evening shift, generally 3 to 11 p.m.

We’re located in the Pacific Northwest and have access to all the beauty this part of the country offers. It’s a perfect location for an outdoor enthusiast.

We are part of The Hagadone Corporation. The publishing division includes 16 newspapers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington. This is a full-time position with medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, paid vacation, and competitive hourly pay (40hrs/week).

The successful candidate must be attentive to detail, work well under pressure and be proficient in pagination software.

A qualified candidate must have the following attributes:

• Experience working with InDesign.
• Working knowledge of grammar, spelling, and Associated Press style.
• Experience with publication design and production, along with newspaper design.
• Ability to work across departments with a variety of personalities.
• Propensity to nimbly redesign pages on short notice due to breaking news.
• A proven eye for great design and a stickler for detail.
• Skills in laying out and designing front pages, sports and lifestyles pages, and working with reporters to create visual statistics and support graphics.
• Understanding of prepress workflow management.
• Proficiency with Adobe CS.
