Reviews of Mercantile Hotel
- Anne
Clean place & welcoming staff from cleaners to security and managers. Very central location, just a short stroll away from Sydney Opera House. Based adjacent to the opera house and station, and a really enjoyable hotel/ pub to be in. Superb and excellent tea, toast, breads, muesli, and cereals for breakfast.
- Rory
We were offered brilliant tea, toast, bread, muesli, and cereals. The hotel was in a very central setting especially close to cruise ship terminal. What's more, it was near the Harbour and the Opera House within short walk distance and circular quay or opera house live music.
Facilities were modern, but Wi-Fi connection was weak.
- Frank
The room was tidy with exceptionally comfortable bed. The location was marvellous, you can visit an art museum by walking. The airport was 15 km away.
- Walter
It has awesome and fab location in heritage building “ The Rocks ” neighbourhood.
- Alan
Location - marvellous and awesome near Close to the Bridge, and all the shops. Also, very close to terminal for boarding cruise ship. Reasonably spacious units with the fireplace, the upper floors of an Irish Pub and the bath tub was so old...
Beds were creaky.
- Annie
I had single room that also was complete with bathroom, the spa bath, for example. The location was marvellous and brilliant, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from a massive steel arched bridge.
- Thomas

Our rooms were spacious and cheap with lovely bath right by sydney harbour bridge, everything was good. The hotel was in a marvellous location near a harbor and parks. Set in 20 minutes' walk to downtown, and the staff were very good and really kind.

Extremely spacious and cheap units with TV and arrival-bathroom plus opening windows, and exceptional staff. Very central location, superb base for discovering Sydney. Found in the lively area near a really enjoyable hotel/ pub and Circular quay, ferries trains and overseas cruise terminal.
- David
The rooms are neat and en suite with jacuzzi.

Neat & airy room with Wi-Fi, sound-proofed windows, tea and coffee. Luxurious bathroom and a separate shower with good sewerage. Brilliant and exceptional location, walk to the cruise ship. Also - short walk to certain attractions, the Opera, and the OPT and Circular Quay ferries...

The venue was set in the very central position near convenience store, All in all a really enjoyable hotel/ pub to be in, and the OPT and Circular Quay ferries. The double room was neat with large bathroom.
Didn't like the area, it was not good.
- Christopher
The room I stayed in at the back of the building was quiet and peaceful, providing a great night's sleep. The central location near Circular Quay and the city center made it convenient for exploring. The room itself was clean, spacious, and serviced daily. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, particularly Lorraine in the office, made me feel welcomed. I had a pleasant stay at the Mercantile Hotel.
- Pauline
I had a slight issue with the noise outside my window for a couple of nights, but when I reached out to reception, they were very responsive and accommodating. They quickly moved me to a different room, and I enjoyed a peaceful and comfortable night's sleep. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The location of the hotel was also a major plus, as it was conveniently situated in a great area. The pub food was delicious, and I found the overall atmosphere to be cozy and inviting. Despite a few minor hiccups, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again in the future. I had a positive experience and would recommend it to others seeking a pleasant stay in the area.

We had an excellent time in this old-fashioned hotel in Sydney. The staff were polite and fast, helped us with every request. The location was amazing, at a medium distance from Circular Quay. Liked the great restaurant.
