Membership Hold Form

Note: The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA made two noteworthy changes to its membership hold policy effective January 1st, 2024. The Y increased its hold fee from $10 to $20 (for most membership types) and reduced the maximum hold length from 6 months to 4 months. What is the reason for your hold?

I must give a 15-day written notice for my membership to properly be placed on hold. I must pay the nonrefundable fee of $20/month (or $10/month for South and Central members) for every month I will be placing my membership on hold. I may only place my membership on hold once in a 12-month period and no longer than four months.

Holds take effect based on my draft date (either the 1st or 15th). Annual memberships will simply be extended for the same amount of months your membership was put on hold. 

If I am placing my membership on a Medical Hold I must have a signed recommendation from a physician. (There is no fee associated with a Medical Hold.)

If I choose to cancel my membership, I must provide a 30-day notice and submit a Membership Cancellation Form. I understand a full-month membership payment must be paid before my cancellation is finalized.
