Five children's annuals (ca 1914-1930) edited by Mrs Herbert Strang are featured at our website. The books are are collections of stories written for girls. Mrs Herbert Strang was the pseudonym used by Mr Herbert Strang for his girls' stories. HOWEVER, Mr Herbert Strang was also a pen-name. According to "The Oxford Companion to Children's Literature", "George Herbert Ely (1866-1958) and James L'Estrange (1867-1947), two staff members of Oxford University Press" were the authors of the Herbert and Mrs Herbert Strang books.
