Originalni naučni rad UDK 930.85(=411.16)(497.11 Београд) 316.722:159.953.3(=411.16)(497.11) Apstrakt: Sefardi su se, nakon progona s Iberijskog poluostrva (1492), naselili u veli-kom broju na prostore Osmanskog carstva, a u Beograd nakon 1521. godine, pošto je grad pao pod osmansku vlast. Administrativno i političko uređenje Osmanskog car-stva omogućilo je beogradskim Sefardima, kao i drugim nemuslimanima, da vekovima žive pobožno i patrijarhalno u zasebnoj mahali. Oni su bili tesno povezani rodbinski i poslovno s drugim sefardskim zajednicama širom Carstva, a samo površno s predstav-nicima muslimanske vlasti i pripadnicima drugih versko-etničkih grupa koje su živele u njihovom neposrednom susedstvu. Promene su nastale tek u XIX veku, nakon us-postavljanja srpske nacionalne države, kada je započela sve intenzivnija modernizacija beogradske jevrejske zajednice. U ovom članku razmatra se kako su orijentalno doba i njegove tekovine ostali zabeleženi u tekstovima koji govore o prošlosti beogradskih Sefarda. Korpus čine sačuvane jevrejske publikacije koje su izlazile između dva svetska rata na srpskom jeziku. One svedoče o specifičnosti sećanja beogradskih Sefarda, ali i o sličnostima koje ona pokazuju kako s diskursima balkanskih suseda, tako i modernih jevrejskih autora. מה הייתה עמדתם של יהודי הארץ הוותיקים כלפי הצהרת בלפור? האם הצטרפו לתרועות השמחה של הציונים בארץ ובעולם? האם שמו לב שההצהרה התעלמה מזכויות הערבים, ואם כן – האם ראו זאת בחיוב או בשלילה? האם הפריע להם שההצהרה מוענה להסתדרות הציונית ולא אליהם, תושבי הארץ? האם הייתה בנמצא עמדה כוללת של בני הארץ הוותיקים, הקדם-ציונים, או למצער, של המזרחים שבהם? האם יש סיבה להניח שהייתה "עמדה ספרדית", או מזרחית, כלפי הצהרת בלפור?

Using the fantastic poem of Emile Cohen lamenting the end of Iraqi Jewry's long and illustrious sojourn in Babylon/Iraq as a canvas, this commentary seeks to give people a taste of the "Iraq that was" for the Jewish community there, specifically noting its fall. It is intended to hopefully inspire people to further study and interest in this particular community's history.

מאמר זה מציע סקירה אנליטית של המחקר על מגדר במדעי החברה שנעשה בישראל בשני העשורים האחרונים ומעלה שתי טענות עיקריות. הטענה הראשונה היא שאפשר לחלק את הכתיבה והמחקר על מגדר בישראל לשני זרמים מקבילים: מחקרי זהות, המספקים במה לקבוצות מושתקות, ומחקרי מדיניות, הבוחנים את השפעתה של המדיניות הכלכלית, הפוליטית והמשפטית על מעמדן של נשים בישראל. אף על פי שזרמים מחקריים אלו שונים מאוד זה מזה, יש ביניהם קשר הדוק, והם אף מזינים זה את זה, כשהאקטיביזם הפמיניסטי הוא המקשר ביניהם. חלוקה זו, המקבילה במידה מסוימת להבחנה שהציעה ננסי פרייזר בין פוליטיקה של הכרה לבין פוליטיקה של חלוקה, היא הציר המארגן של המאמר. הטענה השנייה היא שבעבר התמקדה ספרות המחקר במדינת הלאום וראתה בה ציר מרכזי המכונן יחסי מגדר, ואילו הצירים העיקריים המעצבים בימינו את המחקר על מגדר בישראל הם הנאו־ליברליזם והנאו־קולוניאליזם. דפוס המשילות הנאו־ליברלי הגלובלי איננו מוגבל לתחום הכלכלי או הפוליטי בלבד, אלא מתפשט לייצור סובייקטים מגדריים חדשים, לעיצוב דפוסי האזרחות הממוגדרת ולארגון מחודש של החברתי. נוסף על כך, לנאו־קולוניאליזם, ולמיליטריזם שהוא מתחזק, יש מעמד מכונן בהוויה הישראלית המקומית, והם ממלאים חלק בארגון הפוליטיקה של הזהויות, מעצבים את הפעולה הפוליטית של נשים ובעיקר משמרים את אי־השוויון המגדרי. המאמר מראה שהמחקר על מגדר בישראל מתעצב סביב הנאו־ליברליזם והנאו־קולוניאליזם, למולם או כנגדם, והם מעוררים תגובות של הזדהות והתנגדות בעת ובעונה אחת. אם כך, למרות נטייתן של חוקרות מגדר להתנגד למשטר הנאו־ליברלי ולמשטר הנאו־קולוניאלי, המציאות של קבוצות זהות מגדריות מרובות ומפוצלות, וכן המדיניות בתחומי המגדר, עלולות לשרת באופן לא מכוון את האינטרסים של המדיניות הנאו־ליברלית והנאו־קולוניאלית.

The paper offers an analytic review of the research of gender issues in the social sciences in Israel over the last two decades, presenting two key arguments. First, we argue that gender research in Israel can be divided into two concurrent trends: "identity studies," which give voice and visibility to silenced and marginalized groups; and "policy studies," which examine the implications of economic, political, and legal policies on women's status in Israel. While these two trends seem very different from each other, they are, in fact, mutually nurturing, and tightly joined through the connecting link of feminist activism. The division between the two trends, which echoes Nancy Fraser's distinction between the "politics of recognition" and the "politics of redistribution," is the main axis around which this paper is structured.
Second, we contend that, while past literature maintained that the nation state was the main axis shaping gender relations, today the key factors that shape gender relations and gender scholarly work in Israel are neo-liberalism and neo-colonialism. The global neo-liberal governance pattern is not limited to the financial or political realm; rather, it creates new gender subjectivities, shapes new gendered citizenry patterns, and reorganizes societal issues. At the same time, the neo-colonialism and militarism sustained by it have a formative status in the local Israeli sphere and play a role in organizing local identity politics, shaping women's political activism, and particularly, in preserving gender inequality. The paper reveals that gender studies in Israel are always shaped around, or against, neo-liberalism and neo-colonialism, which provoke simultaneous identification and resistance. Therefore, despite the tendency of gender researchers to resist the neo-liberal discourse and regime, the reality of multiple and divided gender identity groups, as well as gender policy, might unintentionally serve the interests of neo-liberal and neo-colonial policies.
