L’esperienza del “rammentare”, quella che ognuno di noi fa ininterrottamente, costituisce il cerchio delle illusioni, il “perimetro della coscienza” da cui ricavare l’ineffabilità dell’esistenza individuale. Tutta la nostra realtà e, per contro, ogni particolare aspetto della nostra storia dipendono unicamente dalla gestione dei ricordi che la mente in continuazione effettua durante tutto l’arco della vita. Immaginazione, memoria, attenzione, stati di coscienza, alienazione, astrazione, il condizionamento della società tecnologica sul costituirsi e fissarsi delle conoscenze nel pensiero individuale e collettivo: questi sono alcuni dei temi da cui parte l’argomentazione di Paolo Fabiani. Egli affronta poi problemi relativi a questioni di più ampio respiro, a carattere sociologico e pedagogico.

The article features an attempt to reconstruct a medieval costume complex of Tocharians and Uyghurs on the basis of wall paintings in Tarim Basin of the Great Silk Road. The author proposes a methodology according to which the costume is considered as a “universal work of art” (or an “aggregate” work of art as suggested by another terminology), and clarifies the ethnic gestalt with consideration of additional moduses of tactility, sacrality and corporeality, reflecting the complex interactions between the costume and other spheres of culture and its influence on different aspects of human life during the historical development of arts and crafts as a whole. It facilitates the identification of possible ancient social development models, principles of thinking and the level of spiritual organization of the society, reflected in the works of art and their application in the household life.

This workshop is aimed at saving time and energy when it comes to digesting your course readings, journal articles and so on. You will observe how ‘siloing’, helps us to bring some order to our study, as well as visualize and memorize complex ideas more quickly.

Writing out pages and pages of notes is not ideal or very useful in terms of finding information later on when it comes time to begin writing your essay, contributing to class discussions or studying for exams. By contrast, siloing creates a systematic approach that enables you to create, archive and then later retrieve your notes with relative ease, enabling greater recall of core information without having to wade through pages and pages of notes.

Technology-enhanced multimedia instruction offers benefits for foreign language learners. Despite having much potential, technology itself is neither effective or nor effective, but teachers play a key role in determining its effectiveness because they are in charge of making instructional decisions and choose whether and how to use technology. This article fills a gap in the literature by reporting findings of a mixed methods study of technology-enhanced multimedia instruction in middle and high school foreign language classrooms. Convergent parallel mixed methods design was applied in this study and data was collected through quantitative survey and qualitative semi-structured interviews with teachers. Results from the study indicated a significant positive correlation between variables that contribute to the use of technology-enhanced multimedia instruction in foreign language classrooms and described effective technology-enhanced multimedia practices. The findings of the study have implications for teachers, administrators and faculty of teacher preparation programs as well as state teacher education policy makers.
