Lawmakers spoke to the press following seven hours of closed-door testimony with President Biden’s son Hunter before the House Oversight Committee as part of an impeachment inquiry. Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said the next phase of their investigation would be a public hearing and that he would be releasing transcripts from the deposition in the next few days. Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) also spoke, saying there was no evidence that the president was involved in his son’s business dealings and that the impeachment inquiry did not meet the standard of high crimes and misdemeanors. Reporters also heard from Hunter Biden’s legal team as they were leaving the building. close
