Lawyers Explain Why Railways Minister Trial Was So Short

Lou Qiuqin, a defense lawyer of former Railways Minister Liu Zhijun said a one-day meeting was held in Qincheng jail for judges, defense lawyers and prosecutors to review all evidence prior to the June 9 trial. Liu was under custody at the jail located in the suburbs of Beijing. The meeting was held so only evidence agreed upon by the three parties would be displayed the trial. Liu said he would not appeal regardless of the ruling. Defense lawyers also said that Liu didn't bring charges against other people during the investigation.
