💰 In December of 2023, the Biden Administration released $600 million dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act to specifically be applied to environmental justice causes in targeted communities across the nation. There are 11 organizations hand-picked by the Biden Administration that will be administering grants to advocacy and community groups over the course of three years. 🌿 As an emerging program — the Environmental Protection Agency is still hard at work fully implementing the new initiatives — there is much to be solidified, which is expected to happen over the next handful of months. 🔎 As of April 2024, there have been a handful of applications for grants caught by Curate's local government monitoring tool.
