At the invitation of Professor Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg, and in close cooperation with Professor Pierre-Henri Conac, Acting Director of the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL) - University of Luxembourg, Professor Marlene Wind, PhD, Director of the Centre for European Politics at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet), delivered an inspiring presentation to a full auditorium on the democratic backsliding in some Member States and how the European Court of Justice should react to this development. During her presentation, Professor Wind also responded to the scholarly critics of constitutionalism, while Lars Bay Larsen, Vice-President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, shared his insights on how the Court applies Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union regarding the Union’s core values.
